Align your mind with ur Soul Shine
This statement comes from Robert Schuller in his book, 'Living Positively One Day at a Time/Power Thoughts for Each Day of the Year'. It's a phrase that has stuck with me over the years because it SO captures the essence of the trials we go through in this life.
We may feel broken for any number of reasons: from mental, emotional or physical anguish and exhaustion to feeling useless, unloved, unimportant, defeated, and so on.
Please note that I am not a doctor nor a mental health specialist. If you feel you may need professional advice, please contact a licensed therapist or medical practitioner for further assistance.
The trials and tribulations, pain and heartaches that we experience - and we all do - have a purpose. They stimulate us to grow and expand beyond our comfort zones.
We are sometimes forced into making changes > finding solutions > making resolutions > learning to compromise > learning to respect, love and protect ourselves and others while learning to set boundaries.
By using our broken pieces, we can create a masterpiece.
through hardship is not a punishment. It doesn't mean that we are
unworthy, unintelligent, cursed, nor 'deserving' of it. True, we
certainly can unintentionally cause many of our own problems through our
decisions and behaviors, but that's part of the reason we're here!
Hardship obviously has different degrees of discomfort depending on
circumstance, yet each degree has contained within it a challenge to
It may seem that some people live a charmed life, have an easy road with plenty of love and support. The truth is - everyone suffers in one way or another, at some time or another.
We don't come to Earth just to have a jolly good time - although that IS what we want. And we can have plenty of jollies for sure. But the Earth walk can be tough - the roads are winding with many potholes along the way. We may have to jump, straddle or take the time to fill 'em in.
Life isn't meant to be easy. It is designed for us to grow in love, compassion, understanding, tolerance, wisdom and character. We are here to evolve, to overcome, to find our strength and power - thus our divinity. The great overcomer is the spirit within.
When you find yourself feeling downtrodden, sad, hurt, etc., it's time to kick-start your will and fight the good fight. Get angry if you need to - don't sit back and wither away.
You are worth fighting for! Get your head out of the sand, or clouds, or your - yeah-whatever the case may be - and stand up for yourself - your Life - your Soul.
Decide what you want and need, then go after it. Make a change - take a leap of faith - go out on a limb - "just do it".
Chase your heart's desires. If you don't know what they are, then help someone else chase theirs. Take classes. Read books. Educate yourself in something new. Volunteer for a good cause. LIVE. Whatcha got to lose?
Life is short here , use it up.
The physical life offers endless opportunities for experience and expansion, healing and compassion. There is so much we can learn and do to help ourselves and others.
Feeling broken can be a catalyst for discovering your own inner depths. You may find immense strength buried beneath the surface of who you thought you were.
If you need to cry everyday for awhile - please do. Cry and cry until you're all cried out. Don't let those tears hide away - get 'em out!
Helping others takes your focus off of your own problems. It gives you a purpose and opportunity to share yourself and your talents, to find satisfaction and renewed self esteem. Because you matter. You absolutely matter!
The mere fact that you exist means that you are meant to be here, you are designed to exist.
This is the true beauty of life - that we are all so loved simply because we came from Love - Higher Love. We are given the breath of life and the sustenance of existence - so that we may live and love, learn and explore, create and enjoy while becoming more vibrant and fulfilled.
The nature of Higher Love is that in your giving, you also receive. Helping others also fulfills you.
And remember this> You are "Broken to be more Beautiful. Those hurts you have won't destroy you...And you can be a prism of light to those around you!" Robt. Schuller
